24 hours later

This is just 24 hours later than the previous photo. Wow! What a difference!
But all that snow didn't keep us from doing something fun. Working with a local florist, we (Paul, Reed, and I) got to make deliveries as a fund raiser for grad night. We made six different stops and had a great time. Seeing the expressions on the faces of those who received the flowers was fantastic. I hope we can do it again sometime.

It's a SNOW day!

The call came in about 6:40 this morning...all Denton schools were closed due to the inclement weather. It really surprised me. I figured that the schools would be closed tomorrow. But I guess the powers that be remembered 2 years ago when it snowed all day long and the temperatures hung out right around 32 degrees. It took FOREVER for some of the buses to run the routes. Better safe than sorry so I'll enjoy the day.

What a week!

It's only the first week of February and it's already crazy! It feels like it should be about May.

No soccer tournament this weekend. It rained too much earlier in the week and the league didn't want the fields torn up. And honestly, I don't think any of us were looking forward to a 9:00 p.m. game this evening.

And tomorrow is Mam-maw's memorial service. She was 94 when she passed away on Tuesday. Lots of memories with that wonderful, hard-working lady.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I'll get to scrap a little on Sunday. I'm still thinking about submitting a couple of layouts for the design team tryouts over at House of Paper. I'll just have to wait and see how the weekend goes.

Don't you love it when...

you cook supper the night before so all you have to do is warm it up? I put on a pot of Pioneer Woman white chicken chili last night and enjoyed it tonight. The only thing I would do differently is soak the beans overnight so the chili would be ready sooner. Cooking the beans for the two hours as directed didn't soften the beans enough for us.

It's getting there...

Played around a little bit today trying to doll up the blog. The picture at the top is a favorite taken in west Texas. Colorado City to be more specific. At Mom and Pop's to be exact. It was taken during July of 2009. I love going out there. So peaceful, so relaxing. Gotta love that slower pace. Plus eating cherry pie doesn't hurt either.

What have I done?

I've always thought about setting up a blog. Well, here's my attempt. I've got a lot to do to it...layout, pictures, words. Here I go!
